PL Po polsku

What else I listen to

Flashcards get you words. Getting used to the sound of the language takes hours of listening, and these are the two things I keep going back to.

Real Polish

Piotr records in Polish, slowly and clearly, about culture, history and ordinary life. The idea is comprehensible input - you should understand most of it and be stretched by the rest, which is a very different feeling from being lost.

The episodes are free. Transcripts and the extra study material are paid. I got a long way on the free episodes alone, so start there and decide later.

Works from roughly A2 onward. Below that it will feel fast - that is normal, and it is worth coming back to in a month or two.

Ratio viva

Not a learning channel at all. Nikodem makes short videos about psychology and the thinking errors behind everyday decisions - made for Poles, at Polish speed. That is exactly why it is useful: real pace, real vocabulary, nobody slowing down for you. Closed captions are on, so you can read along when your ears give out.

Harder than Real Polish. I treat it as the thing I graduate into, and I still pause it constantly.
Neither of these paid me anything and probably neither knows this page exists.
