It glues a description onto a noun - the man who lives here, the film that we watched.
- który stands in for the noun inside the added clause: Człowiek, który tu mieszka... (the man who lives here).
- It's one word for who / which / that - Polish doesn't split them the way English does.
- A comma always comes before it. Polish commas are grammar, not style: Człowiek, który...
- The good news: który declines exactly like an adjective - everything from the case lessons transfers.
Człowiek, który tam stoi, to mój sąsiad.
The man who is standing there is my neighbour.
Film, który oglądaliśmy, był świetny.
The film that we watched was great.
Gender and number come from the noun
Look left at the noun being described - który copies its gender and number.

którzy is the same masculine-personal club as oni and wszyscy - people-with-a-man get their own form, everything else takes które.
The case comes from the clause
Gender from the left, case from the right: whatever job który does inside its own clause sets the case.
- Subject of the clause → Nominative: Kobieta, która tu pracuje...
- Object of the clause → Accusative: Kobieta, którą poznałem... (I met her → object).
- Receiving something → Dative: Dziewczyna, której dałem kwiaty...
- This is why the same noun can be followed by different forms - the clause decides.
Kobieta, która tu pracuje, jest z Krakowa.
The woman who works here is from Krakow.
Kobieta, którą wczoraj poznałem, jest z Krakowa.
The woman I met yesterday is from Krakow.
With prepositions: z którym, w którym
The preposition moves to the front of który and brings its case along - no dangling prepositions like in English.

English says 'the flat I live in'. Polish never leaves the preposition at the end: mieszkanie, w którym mieszkam.
co - when there's no noun
For 'that which / what / everything that', Polish switches from który to co.
- After to, wszystko, nic: wszystko, co mam - everything (that) I have.
- to, co = 'what' as a thing: Rób to, co lubisz - do what you like.
- który needs a concrete noun to lean on; co covers the abstract leftovers.
To wszystko, co mam.
That's everything I have.
Nie rozumiem tego, co mówisz.
